Botox

Botox is a neuromodulator injectable product that temporarily relaxes muscles in the upper third of the face. The contractions of these muscles are responsible for the formation of horizontal forehead lines, vertical lines between the eyes and crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes. No downtime is required.

Our Botox® treatments reduce wrinkles around the eyes and forehead, the area that most often develops the earliest signs of aging.

Candidates

Procedure

Botox® works by introducing a substance into the muscles that are used for certain facial expressions that contribute to the development of lines. Dr. Baker makes several injections in each of these muscles. For forehead lines, the injections are made in a soft curve from the center of the forehead and out to each side of the area. A total of five injection points may be used. Vertical lines between the eyes are performed just below the injections for forehead lines using the same pattern and number of injection sites. Crow’s feet may require up to three injection sites.

Recovery

Injections made to the face and body produce an inflammatory response to help with healing. You may have some tenderness, swelling, bruising, and minor bleeding around each injection site for the first one to two days. No downtime is needed after Botox® injections.
